April goal
10-lbs in April, that’s what I’m aiming for.
Starting weight: 185.4.
Fridge is stocked with fruits and veggies. I’ll be making some vegan-raw hummus tonight.
Let’s do this!!

Coworker passed me in the hall today and asked, “Hey, how much weight have you lost?”
I wanted to respond by bursting into tears and admitting I had miscarried for the second time and how I would never be able to live a completely fulfilling life without children. That would teach the bitch to ask me personal questions.
But, to be honest, it was nice for someone to notice.
3 things that make life worth living:
Anchorage’s Prop 5, guaranteeing equal rights for the LGBT community, has me down. It is to be voted on April 3rd.
I think it’s disgusting that there’s even a question. Clearly the religious right has a stronghold in this community and over our spineless politicians and it makes me sick.
Whenever I get in a mood, the “things that make life worth living” game comes in handy.
1) Woody Allen. I might go home and throw in “Love & Death” to help fuck the pain away.
2) My boyfriend. We rock. End of story.
3) That scene in Children of Paradise when Baptiste goes crazy thrashing the hell out of the bouquet of flowers and threatens to kill himself. Gorgeous. Never a scene of more genuine angst. I weep every time.
It seems that government can’t stop trying to tell me what to do with my body. “Stop using birth control. Stop having abortions.” I say, stop trying to create more problems.
The 2010 census report states that 22% of children in America are living at or below the poverty line (higher than the national average of ~15%). Give me security, peace of mind and a promise that my child won’t grow up in a hateful, repressive society…
Give us jobs: The National unemployment rate is 8.3%. Now, it’s fallen since 2009 but it’s still very high. Better education is essential. Lower dropout rates in high school, better trained teachers and, for fuck’s sake, STOP DISCOURAGING PEOPLE FROM GOING TO COLLEGE! A good “liberal” education doesn’t actually mean dirty-word liberal. It means “well-rounded”. It means valuing knowledge for it’s own sake AS WELL AS providing practical skills for use in one’s profession. It means doing something you’re passionate about and not just trying to make a shit-ton of money.
Set a good example: As politicians and public figures, it is essential to promote FREEDOM, EQUALITY and VALUES. And not just Christian values. Love each other, respect each other…LOVE and RESPECT US! I am not Rick Santorum’s child. I am not Mitt Romney or Barack Obama’s child. In fact, I’m a grown-ass adult making my way through this crazy world. I grew up with two parents who taught me how to behave, how make decisions and think critically, sometimes how NOT to behave. People learn from their mistakes. People grow. Freedom means allowing people to do just that.
Stop hating on us and treating us like children. Women, gays, minorities, immigrants…we’re all people too. We have unique life experiences that help guide us. Values have been instilled in us from childhood, from our parents, from religious beliefs, from an innate knowledge of “right” and “wrong”. We’re not that different than you. Stop trying to convince us that you know what’s right for us.
Focus on real problems of the people are already on this planet.
Stop telling me what is best for my bagina.
Respect people.
For fuck’s sake stop trying to revert to The Dark Ages!
If you can’t do that, eat a bag of baby dicks you sons of bitches.
I’m out.
After 7 days of airport food and restaurants, I’m back.
5 days of amusement park visits and walking 8-15 miles/day meant I had a big appetite. I came back weighing in at a hefty 187.8 pounds and with super sore calf muscles.
I’m still recovering from long days walking in the sun and heat drinking margaritas. So the gym is out of the question for today. I need a nap.
